[Ro]
Ro is one type of gauze fabric made from silk used for Summer kimono that has a feel of transparency. It has a woven stripes pattern, and stripes patterned Ro is called Take-ro and horizontal stripes patterned Ro is called Yoko-ro.
Ro is suitable for a formal occasion so used for Tomesode, Homogi, and Komon as well as Juban for Summer, Summer mourning kimono, obi age and obi belt.
[Rozashi]
Rozashi is one of Japanese stitching methods, which has a history of 1200 years, since the Tenpyo period. The Japanese translate the word "Rozashi" to mean a puncturing (sashi) of the canvas (Ro).
Silk kimono fabric is placed in a wooden frame and special silk threads are embroidered vertically often expressing traditional designs.
[Chirimen]
Chirimen is a silk, wool, or synthetic fiber fabric with a distinctively crisp, crimped appearance.
Kinsha is a kind of Chirimen and it has more minute wrinkles, smooth and glossy touch.
Mon-kinsha is a Kinsha fabric with woven patterns.
