[Kihachijo]
Kihachijo is a hand-woven silk textile produced in Hachijo Island, Tokyo, Japan.
It’s a silk cloth dyed with plant dyes and with vertical and cross stripes, totally hand woven with threads dyed in 3 different colors: yellow, brown and black. The fabric is light, tough and lustrous. Kihachijo textiles were even presented to noble families during the Edo Period.
