[Chosei MIWA] (1901-1983)
A Japanese-style painting artist. Born in Nigata prefecture. After leaving Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting, Chosei became a pupil of Insho Domoto, a Japanese-style painter. His works won the special prizes at the Teiten exhibition for twice in 1931 and 1934. After the WWII, Chosei continued to enter contests, mainly centered on the Nitten Exhibition and received the Award of the Japan Art Academy in 1934. He is known for beautiful kacho-ga and scenery paintings drawn with rich colors. Died in 1983, at the age of 82.
