Hiastoshi IWATA] (1925-1994)
A Japanese glass artist in late Showa and Heisei period.
Hisatoshi was born in Tokyo as the eldest son of Toshichi Iwata, an grass craft artist.
Graduated from Tokyo University of Arts.
1949 Won his first prize at the Nitten Exhibition ( won the special prize in 1954 and 1955)
1972 United the Japan Grass Artcrafts Association and became the first president
1976 Won the Minister of Education Award in the 8th Nitten Exhibition
1979 Received a Dark‐blue Ribbon Medal
1986 His work joined the collection of Metropolitan Museum in NY
1994 Passed away at the age of 68
