[Tokoku MORIMOTO]
A Tanba ware potter in Hyogo prefecture. A master of Tanba-Tachikui ware kiln. The present generation is the 5th generation.
The first generation Tokoku was born in 1901 to a potter family. He refined his skills under Rakuzan Shimizu, a famous Banko ware potter and was designated as an Intangible cultural property designated by Hyogo prefecture in 1974.
The present master, the fifth generation Tokoku was born in 1940. He learned pottery skills under his father, the 4th generation Tokoku, and produces elegant tea utensils with traditional methods of Tanba ware. The holder of Intangible cultural properties designated by Hyogo prefecture.
