[Seigoro KIMURA]
- Second Generation of Seigoro KIMURA
His name is Bunzo. Born in Nigata prefecture in 1949. A son of the 1st Seigoro. The 2nd Seigoro has been familiar with metal working since he was a child. He learned metal working under his father.
He is making practical and beautiful works: vessels for replenishing water, kettles, ash spoons, metal chopsticks, smoking pipes…etc.
Another works are pitchers, incense containers, hanging scrolls, and so on, and he manufactures works very elaborately to small details of his products.
Therefore, his style of metal working characterized by simple modeling and modest design. Damascening, which is laborious art inlaying, is also one of his style, so there are some of his works with damascening.
He mainly opens his own exhibitionhis of metal works.
The 2nd Seigoro is making new products one after another even after he succeeded the 2nd head of Seigoro. He has two names in business: one is “Seigoro KIMURA”, the other is “Seiun” in his silver products.
1973- He apprenticed under the 1st Seigoro KIMURA.
1974- He got the merit award of the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.
1986- He got an award at the exhibition by Mie prefecture.
1992- He succeeded the 2nd head of Seigoro KIMURA.
