[Shigetoshi NAKAZATO] (1930-2015)
A Karatsu ware potter. Sangen kiln in Karats City, Saga prefecture.
Shigetoshi was born as the third son of Taroemon Nakazato the 12th, a Living National Treasure potter in Saga prefecture. In 1952, his work was accepted by the Nitten Exhibition for the first time and won the Hokuto Prise (Special Award) at the exhibition in 1965.
He was one of representative Karatsu ware artisan along with his oldest brother Taroemon the 13th and younger brother Takashi Nakazato.
