[Tateshi YAMASHIRO] 1948-
A Japanese potter. Born in Hokkaido in 1948.
Takeshi learned pottery skills under the first and second generation Seiryudo KATSUO, a potter in Kyoto, then became independent and established his kiln “Ohabugama” in Tanba city in 1975. In 1989 he moved his kiln to Kasuga-cho in Tanba city, then moved to Los Angels in 2013.
He has held his personal exhibitions since 1985 in Kotyo, Hakodate, Hokkaido and Kyoto as well as exhibitions in LA in 1978 and 1981.
