In Unzen, a city in Nagasaki prefecture, they created wares for a Buddhist altar and daily wares in Nara period.
"Unzen ware" was invented around 1925 when Hyakkansai HANDA visited to Unzen from Tokyo and established a kiln in Unzen-Shinyu.
